The certain standard code known as the International Fire Code, 2006 Edition, published by the International Code Council, is hereby incorporated by reference and made a part of this article, save and except such portions as may be deleted or amended by ordinance. There shall be no fewer than three copies of the standard code incorporated by reference and kept on file in the office of the city clerk and kept available for inspection by the public at all reasonable hours. The filed copies of the standard code shall be marked “Official Copy as Incorporated by the Code of the City of Caney.” All sections or portions of the filed copies of the standard code shall be clearly marked to show deletions from the standard code.”

The code hereby adopted shall be enforced by the chief of the fire department.

Wherever the word municipality is used in the code hereby adopted, it shall be held to mean the city.

(a)   It shall be unlawful to burn rubbish, trash, leaves, lumber, straw or any other combustible material in any street, alley or other property within the city limits of the city except as provided in subsection (b) hereof.

(b)   It shall be unlawful to burn rubbish, leaves, lumber, straw or any other combustible material at any time except by permit issued by the fire chief in accordance with existing State statutes and existing regulations. The cost of each such permit shall be in the amount of $25.00.
