AN ORDINANCE EXEMPTING CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLES FROM THE PROVISIONS OF CHARTER ORDINANCE NO. 17, SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS HEREOF.

WHEREAS, Charter Ordinance No. 17, declaring certain motor vehicles within the City of Caney as nuisances and providing a process of removing or abating such motor vehicles, was approved by the governing body of the City of Caney on July 21, 1997; and

WHEREAS, the governing body desires to exempt certain motor vehicles from the provisions of Charter Ordinance No. 17, subject to the provisions hereof.

THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF CANEY, KANSAS:

Section 1. As used in this Ordinance, the term “Race Car” shall include any operable race car, stock car, mini-sprint, racer or any motor vehicle designed to run on a track or drag strip.

Section 2. The term “Vehicle” as defined in Charter Ordinance No. 17, shall not include any “Race Car”.
