A CHARTER ORDINANCE AMENDING CHARTER ORDINANCE 1 AND ORDINANCE NO 2161, ESTABLISHING THE CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MONTHLY MEETINGS FOR THE CITY OF CANEY KANSAS.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF CANEY, KANSAS:

Section 1. Regular Meetings.

(a)   The City Council shall meet twice a month on the first and third Monday of each month, at the hour of 6:30 p.m., at the Caney City Hall, in the Council Meeting Room (east entrance) at 100 West 4th Street, Caney, Kansas, 67333.

(b)   If the day set for a regular meeting falls on a legal holiday, such meeting shall be automatically postponed until the next regular meeting or rescheduled by the Council.

Section 2. Workshops.

The City Council shall hold a workshop one (1) time per month on the first Monday of each month, at the beginning of the regular meeting to discuss upcoming events or projects. Once the workshop is over, the regular open meeting will be called to order. The regular meeting following the workshop will consist of the Consent Agenda for bill paying and any other topics the City Council deems necessary.

Section 3. Special Meeting.

The City Council shall set Special meetings as needed on any given day or time with the proper legal notice.
