A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF CANEY, KANSAS FROM SECTIONS 12-187 AND 12-189 OF THE KANSAS STATUTES ANNOTATED AS ADOPTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF KANSAS IN CHAPTER 56, SESSION LAWS OF 1978; AND PROVIDING SUBSTITUTE AND ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS ON THE SAME SUBJECT, REGARDING IMPOSITION OF CITY RETAILERS SALES TAXES.

The text of Charter Ordinance No. 6 is not reprinted as a result of Attorney General’s Opinion of August 12, 1987 holding that under K.S.A. 1986 Supp. 12-187 and 12-189, as admitted Sections 1 and 2 of L. 1987, ch. 63, fixing the rate of any city apply uniformly to all cities of the same class, a city may not increase the maximum 1 per cent rate through adoption of a Charter Ordinance.
